Micro musical moments to live for.
On my walk with the mp3 player today I realized there are tiny moments of musicality that make me smile or gesture in groovaliciousness or just generally enjoy repeatedly. Some examples:
The drums matching syllable for syllable the line “hang a five-rail gate from” in McMurtry’s “Choctaw Bingo.”
The late drum roll and cymbal in J.J. Cale’s “Rock n” Roll Records” before the line “If the evening sun don’t shine, my friend.”
Zevon’s “Hot Dog and assorted yelps in “Detox Mansion.”
You get the idea. You got any?
