This ancient Ovation Balladeer.

This was bestowed on me by my sister when she was in hippie college. As I recall, the story was that it was either a prototype, or at any rate some kind of pre-production Balladeer. That info may be utterly useless given the fact that it’s at least third-hand, plus my memory after 35 years may be a tad inaccurate.

In any case, I did play it a while, though I think I relegated it to slide because the neck is in serious need of a reset. Now it might as well be a dobro. How do you reset a neck on these things, I wonder.

So I’m off to research this instrument to see what, if anything I should do about it. Given that the serial number is 292, it might have some historical significance. I also need to find out how to remove that water decal of the Indian chief. I remember putting it on for no particular reason.
