Unraveling a story from one line in a ray Wylie Hubbard song.

When I heard the song “Screw You, we’re from Texas,” I remembered the line “No band was cooler than the 13th Floor Elevators,” so when I saw this documentary, “You’re Going to Miss Me,” on Netflix via Roku, I snagged it. and watched last night.

It’s about the life and times of Roky Erickson, and I won’t even try to describe it. I’m just glad it seems to be heading towards a happy ending with the help of friends (among them Billy Gibbons) and family. Talented dude, and what a story.

Rocky Erickson, You Don’t Love Me Yet.
