  • Confession: As a kid during the cold war, I thought "Up and at 'em" was "Up and atom." The meaning I conjured is too long for twitter. #

Speaking of new music biz models…

Check these possible levels artist support options for Linda Thompson. I wonder they meant “Champaign Socialist” or “Champagne Socialist.” One is countryside and the other gets you drunk — I think.

The ultimate, of course, is pay her $100,000 and she won’t make a CD at all. Brilliant! I’ve not heard her, but I already like her.

Free New Song. Tumbleweeds.

January 31st, 2010 fred No comments

UPDATE 2-2-2010: Up to the seventh mix now, and I sure hope it’s the last. Sure wish I had the Waves plugins.

The sketch I’ve been working on is now a song, and here’s the third mix of it, free.

In case you’re not a twitter follower and didn’t catch the excerpt to determine if you want it, here’s a sample of the song from mix 2.

Here’s the whole song.

  Tumbleweeds Free Mix3 (5.4 MiB, 26 hits)

Wait, I remixed. Try this one./

  Tumbleweeds 5 (5.4 MiB, 33 hits)

And here are the lyrics:

Tumbleweeds/Riding on that breeze/Tumbleweeds/Got me on my knees

Got me a girl, and she’s just too fine/One day I know that I’ll come home to find/(nothing but) tumbleweeds/Riding on that breeze

Went to a psychic with a crystal ball/She rubbed that thing, and you know what she saw/Tumbleweeds/I’m on my dusty knees

It’s time to move on/time to ride that breeze/with those tumbleweeds

There’s a cold wind blowin’/blowin’ through the factories/a chill wind blowin’/from Seattle to the Keys

Sent some saviors up to DC/Looked inside their heads where the common sense should be/and I saw tumbleweeds/it’s got me on my dusty knees

It’s time to move on/time to ride that breeze/with those tumbleweeds
